Moldovan literary critic would have turned 85

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - A literary critic and historian, PhD in philology, university professor, corresponding member of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences (ASM) Nicolae Biletchi would have turned 85 years today.
Nicolae Biletchi was born in the Opriseni village, Radauti county (presently Chernivtsi region, Hliboca district, Ukraine) in 1937. He graduated from the Faculty of the Romanic and Germanic Philology, section of Romanian language and literature, of the Chernivtsi State University. He maintained the thesis of doctor’s degree at the A.M. Gorki Institute of Universal Institute from Moscow. In 1987, Biletchi maintained the thesis of PhD in philology and in 1992, he was elected corresponding member of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences (ASM).
Nicolae Biletchi published over 380 studies and articles, as well as two monographs.
The works of Biletchi were focused on issues of literary history and theory, on the research of the contemporary literary process in Moldova.
Nicolae Biletchi passed away on 30 July 2021.
