Moldovan deputy premier discusses refugee issue with Swedish official

Chisinau, March 15 / MOLDPRES /- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration received Matilda Ernkrans, Minister for International Cooperation and Development of the Kingdom of Sweden, who is on a working visit to Moldova, the MAEIE press service has reported.

"We discussed issues regarding the regional situation in the context of the war in Ukraine, as well as the priority issues related to our country's management of refugee flows from the neighboring country," said Popescu.

The Government of the Kingdom of Sweden has donated equipment for the management of the humanitarian crisis to the Republic of Moldova and has allocated two million euros in financial support to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to provide assistance for refugees.
