Almost 700 applications submitted for admission of Ukrainian children in schools from Moldova

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ - Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala, at a today’s news conference, informed that, on the last days, over 600 applications had been submitted on the registration of Ukrainian refugees’ children in schools  from Moldova and about 75 applications for registration in kindergartens.    

According to Topala, education institutions from Moldova have made available more than 3,000 accommodation places for refugees. ‘’Our wish is to ensure for the children who came from Ukraine the involvement in school and extra-school activities. It is crucial that the children who came to our country are sure that the war is for a short period in their lives and for this reason, their involvement in activities is fundamental,’’ Topala noted.   

The education minister said that the small children and pupils would attend the education institutions for free and as for students, the state considers free of charge syllabi for them and against payment.   

Anatolie Topala specified that the involvement of the minors who fled the war in education would be made based on an application submitted by their parents and will be possible depending on the places available in institutions.

According to data by the Education and Research Ministry, there are 972 schools with subjects taught in Romanian, 261 ones with subjects taught in Russian and disciplines are taught in the Ukrainian language in 37 education institutions.
