Pensions to increase in Moldova as of next April

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - The pensions will be increased and indexed starting from next April. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today made statements to this effect at a news conference.
According to the PM, starting from 1 April, the pensions will be increased by 13.94 per cent, proceeding from the inflation rate in late 2021. Yet, the growth will not apply to the pensions which exceed the average salary on the economy.
At the same time, all pensions calculated will be increased by 171.71 lei.
Labour and Social Protection Minister Marcel Spatari said that, after 1 April, the elderly people getting pensions of 2,500 lei would receive 3,020 lei and the minimal age limit pension will increase from 2,000 to 2,278 lei.
The prime minister also said that decision-makers today also had ruled to distribute financial means worth 207,754,200 lei for the providing of the annual bonus. The bonus will be provided for the results of the work carried out in 2021 and will be distributed to the budgetary units’ employees.
