National contest of dramaturgy, 2022, launched in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Theatre Union of Moldova (UNITEM) has recently launched the 17th issue of the national contest of dramaturgy, due to be held till 30 August 2022.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, UNITEM head Alexandru Grecu said the goal of the competition was to develop the theatrical process in Moldova, to discover new dramatic plays by native authors, as well as to promote the contemporary dramaturgy.

According to Grecu, well-known dramatists and debutants can participate in the contest. They should have dramatic works which have not been published or staged and did not take part in the previous editions of the national contests of dramaturgy.

Till 5 September, the jury will nominate the winner play. The latter will be edited in the UNITEM collection, will get a prize at the UNITEM Gala 2022 and proposed for staging at theatres from Moldova.

The first edition of the national dramaturgy contest was held in 2009.
