Moldovan government approves strengthening of Foreign Affairs Ministry's institutional capacities

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s government meeting, approved an amendment of the decision on the organization and work of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE). This implies the supply of the ministry with 10 positions, a decision which implies additional expenses for 2022, the MAEIE press service has reported.
„This will allow strengthening our efforts for the efficient implementation of the 4D principles of the concrete deeds’ diplomacy: European Development; Dialogue, Diaspora and Economic Diplomacy,’’ Deputy PM, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu said.
The new staff allocations will contribute to the consolidation of the ministry’s capacity to provide quicker and quality consular services to the Moldovan citizens and facilitate the interaction with the Diaspora.
Also, decision-makers want to promote a more active economic diplomacy, with emphasis on the promotion of products made in Moldova, identification of new export markets, increase in the number of tourists and attracting investments to create safe and well-paid jobs at home, as this is one of the central goals on the agenda of the country’s foreign policy in 2022.
