Moldovan diplomacy head discusses with Romanian counterpart

Chisinau, 17 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu on 16 March discussed with his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu, on the sidelines of a meeting between Presidents Maia Sandu and Klaus Iohannis, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
The officials referred to the regional security situation and reiterated the firm support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. At the same time, the two foreign affairs ministers discussed the enforcement of the high-level agreements reached by the presidents and prime ministers of Moldova and Romania, including the ones established at the joint meeting, recently held in Chisinau.
„On the day when the application on accession to the European Union was submitted, Romania was the biggest supporter of the European perspective and a true friend on the way of accelerated implementation of the reforms and the state’s modernization for the benefit of the citizens,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
