Moldova to borrow one more loan from top European bank

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES – The draft on ratification of an agreement on loan between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), for the implementation of the Energy Efficiency in Moldova Project, will be presented in parliament’s plenum for approval. The parliament’s commission for economy, budget and finances approved a report to this end today.
The agreement’s ratification will allow Moldova borrowing a loan on behalf of EBRD worth 30 million euros for the carrying out of the energy efficiency project.
The Energy Efficiency in Moldova Project is aimed at the energy rehabilitation of the real estate fund with low energy performance, first of all, the public buildings owned or managed by central and local public authorities, with emphasis on social institutions.
The duration of the project’s implementation is planned for the period of the 2022-2025 years and the validity term of the agreement with EBRD will be up to 15 years, with a four-year grace period. The overall value of the Energy Efficiency in Moldova Project is of 75 million euros, including the EBRD loan, a credit on behalf of the European Investments Bank and the part of grant.
