National Library of Moldova opens exhibition dedicated to Right to Truth Day

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - The United Nations Information Centre today opened an exhibition of publications titled, The truth – the shield which defeds us, at the National Library (BNRM), in the context of the International Day for the Right to the Truth concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims, marked on 24 March.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the exhibition’s curator, Tatiana Gheiceanu, said the exhibition comprised about 100 documents of BNRM’s collections, presented in three sections: Human rights – basis of democracy and equality between nations; Dignity – human dimension of first value; Refugees – victims of war and terror.
Established by the UN General Assembly on 21 December 2010, this day represents the recognition of the impact of the activity and the values proved by Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero, from El Salvador, assassinated on 24 March 1980, after he had denounced serious infringements of human rights in the case of the most vulnerable population and defended the principles of life’s protection, promoted human dignity and opposed all forms of violence.
The exhibition will be opened till 31 March.
