Romania - more than true friend for Moldova - PM says

Chisinau, March 24 / MOLDPRES /- 1,250 tons of fuel oil, donated by Romania, arrived today in the Republic of Moldova. This is the first batch of the 5,000 tons, offered to our country free of charge, to maintain the energy security of the state. Present at the donation reception, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița thanked the Romanian Government for quick involvement and constant support to our country, especially in the context of the energy crisis and the challenges of the war in Ukraine, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
"In these complicated times, Romania's generous, quick and direct reaction proves that the neighboring country is more than a true friend for the Republic of Moldova. We are grateful to the Government of Romania for the assistance of fuel, which will help us to ensure the rapid management of the flow of refugees but also the energy security of Moldova ", said Natalia Gavrilița.
The Prime Minister also mentioned that the Republic of Moldova had to manage an enormous flow of refugees - over 370 thousand Ukrainians entered our country, and about 100 thousand of them chose to stay in Moldova. "It simply came to our notice then. Romania is with us, it helps us, so that Ukrainian refugees who want to go further, in the countries of the European Union, can cross the Republic of Moldova quickly - we also have direct buses that go from the border points in Romania, right on this The Chisinau-Iasi train leaves the platform, which helps to take the refugees to the EU countries, and the next train will be in less than an hour ", mentioned Natalia Gavrilița.
The Prime Minister stressed that Romania's friendship and solidarity are highly appreciated by Moldovan citizens, and the Executive, with the support of the Romanian side, will continue its efforts to make people feel safe and supported. "There is a volatility in the fuel market, price increases that have never been seen before, and this fuel oil will help us to have alternatives, options, to provide the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with access to fuel and heat.
