136,727 foreign minors entered Moldova since beginning of war in Ukraine

Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/- 136,727 foreign minors have entered the Republic of Moldova through the border crossing points with Ukraine since the beginning of the crisis in the neighboring state. Of their total number, children with Ukrainian citizenship were 132,230.
According to the Border Police, to date, there are 48,218 Ukrainian minors in the country.
During this period, the Border Police paid special attention to the crossing of the border by minors, being facilitated the control procedures for this category of travelers. In this regard, the institution received support from UNICEF Moldova representatives, who offered assistance in child protection.
UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Orlando Bloom paid a visit to the Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe border crossing yesterday. Border guards briefed him on the situation at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border and spoke of the need to unify efforts to ensure the safety and peace of all refugees.
