Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 24 March visited the settlements Ciuciulea and Hajdieni of the north-western Glodeni district, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state discussed with people of the two settlements the major crises faced by Moldova and the measures undertaken by the authorities to attenuate their consequences. For their part, local residents informed the president about the problems and plans of their communities and showed support for the country’s accession to the European Union.
President Maia Sandu urged the residents to enforce the European Village national programme, launched earlier this week.
„The needs of financing for improving the settlement’s living conditions are big and we can meet them only by developing a strong economy and ensuring the efficient use of the resources,’’ the head of state said. Maia Sandu gave assurances that the authorities would work in continuation to attract foreign sources for financing projects in settlements.
