New local elections to be held in settlement from central Moldova district

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - New local elections for the commune council will take place in the Lozova settlement, central Straseni district, even if the commune’s mayor contests this fact.

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today rejected an application by the mayor of the Lozova commune, through which he was contesting an act ascertaining the fact that the commune council’s members had not held meetings during six months.

CEC reasoned the turning down of the request, motivating that the application on contestation should have been backed by court decision.

In the context, the central electoral authority established that the new local elections for the Lozova commune council would be held on 15 may 2022.
