Administrator of driving school, two officials detained by CNA

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/- Two officials from the Chisinau Municipal Dermato-Venereological Dispensary and administrator of a driving school have been detained by the CNA and prosecutors in several cases of passive corruption and influence peddling.

According to the CNA, they organized a criminal scheme, through which they facilitated the procedure for admission to the medical commission for obtaining a driving license, evading the legal procedure and demanding money from candidates.

Thus, the administrator of the driving school, in complicity with several employees of the Dispensary, allegedly demanded and received systematically sums of money ranging between 200 and 1,000 lei, to determine the members of the examination commission to accept people to the medical examination in the absence of certificates.

CNA officers and prosecutors are currently investigating dozens of episodes of corruption and influence peddling, linked in a joint proceeding. In order to strengthen the evidence, this morning, 37 searches were carried out at home and at the service offices of several extras on the file, including the Municipal Dermato-venerological Dispensary, the ASP and individuals.

If found guilty of passive corruption and influence peddling, the three risk up to 7 years in prison.
