Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - The government will condition the sale of areas on which forest belts were planned, but have not been planted. The cabinet of ministers today approved amendments to the law on the normative price and the way of sale- purchase of land, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The new provisions are aimed at facilitating the process of creation of forest belts for protecting fields, preventing the degradation and erosion of soils, protecting farmlands and enhancing their productivity.
Therefore, the local councils will be able to condition the sale of the land planned to be occupied by planned, but not planted forest belts, involved in a single technological process. Thus, the buyer, on a period of up to three years, will be obliged to ensure the carrying out of the planning and planting of the anti-erosion forest belts, to make the hydrological arrangement of lands, in line with the new project on territory organization.
It is worth mentioning that the forest belts contribute to the decrease in the wind’s speed, enhance the air’s and soil’s humidity, attenuate the extreme air temperatures during summer and in winter, retain and uniformly distribute the snow on the area of farmlands, stop the erosion and increase the fertility of soils. Also, forest belts prevent the appearance of soils’ degradation.
