Slovakia reconfirms support for Moldova's European integration

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová, on a working visit to Chisinau. The visit’s goal is to reconfirm Slovakia’s support for Moldova’s modernization and the appreciation for the Moldovan citizens’ effort to provide shelter to the tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees, driven away from their homes by the war in their country, the presidential press service has reported.
President Maia Sandu thanked Zuzana Čaputová for the humanitarian assistance provided to Moldova to manage the flow of refugees. At the same time, the two heads of state together called to the reestablishment of peace in Ukraine. Maia Sandu thanked also for the development assistance provided to Moldova by Slovakia, as well as the decision to back the application on accession to EU, submitted by Moldova on 4 March 2022.
„We also discussed our plans to transform Moldova into a resilient, safe and prosperous country, without corruption with a fair justice and with functional institutions. Slovakia stays a reliable partner state of Moldova. We want to develop the good cooperation between our countries, but for this, we need peace,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
