Moldovan cabinet enforces additional measures for backing farmers

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s government will increase the budget for subsidies in agriculture and will compensate 30 per cent of the cost of oil products used by farmers.

At a news conference held following the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said the cabinet had ruled to increase the budget of subsidies provided to farmers up to 1 billion 750 million lei. ‘’I know the difficult situation faced by the Moldovan farmers. I know their needs; for this reason, we allocate additional resources for backing the agricultural producers,’’ the PM said.

At the same time, Natalia Gavrilita informed that the state would compensate 30 per cent of the value of oil products used by the farmers.

According to the official, the government decision containing these additional measures and the regulation on their enforcement will be published on 31 March.
