Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, along with President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová, today afternoon visited the placement centre from the Moldexpo exhibition centre. A consignment of humanitarian assistance, provided to Moldova by Slovakia for refugees from Ukraine, reached this placement centre today, the presidential press service has reported.
The two heads of state discussed with the Centre’s administration, volunteers from Moldova, Ukraine and other countries, as well as with refugees: grandparents, mothers, children. The refugees thanked the authorities of Moldova for the conditions created, for the tasty food and the warmth with which the Moldovan citizens received them. The refuges noted that their greatest wish was to return home as soon as possible and reconstruct their lives. President Maia Sandu wished the refugees much courage, assuring them that Moldova would further be with them and we will pray for peace together.
Following the visit to Moldexpo, the head of state, along with President Zuzana Čaputová went to the lake of the Mills’ Valley. ‘’We said goodbye to each other, with the promise of meeting again, on a more peaceful period for the entire world and of new joint projects,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
