IMF team of experts to have discussions with Moldova's authorities

Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/ - A team of experts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Ruben Atoyan, will have discussions with Moldova’s authorities on 4-8 April.
According to the IMF representation in Chisinau, the mission’s goal is to discuss a possible increase in the volume of financing within the Extended Credit Facility (ECF)-Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme, supported through the Extended Credit Facility and Extended Fund Facility, as well as the change of the schedule of the disbursement of the installments, in order to back the authorities’ efforts to get the resources necessary for covering the urgent expenses, in the context of the multiple crises faced by Moldova.
The programme of 40 months of the Moldovan authorities, supported by IMF, was approved on 21 December 2021. The programme is financed through a loan worth about 557.3 million dollars (400 million special drawing rights (SDR), of which 79.8 million dollars (57.2 million SDR), has been already disbursed. The crediting based on ECF provides for an annual interest rate of 0 per cent, a grace period of five years and a half and a ten-year repayment period; the crediting based on EFF sees an annual interest rate equal to the basic rate of interest of SDR, a repayment period of ten years and a grace period of four years and a half.
