Ministry of Labor and Social Protection starts to index pensions

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection is starting to index pensions and social benefits.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marcel Spatari announced that starting with 1 April pensions and some social benefits will be indexed with a coefficient of 13.94%, and the minimum old-age pension with full contribution period will be 2278. 80 lei.

According to the official, the process of indexing and increasing pensions is carried out by the National Social Insurance House ex officio, without the submission of applications by citizens.

Also, in the context of the increase of the minimum pension, the state social allowances from which some categories of persons benefit are recalculated. Indexation is provided for old-age, disability and survivors' pensions, seniority pensions; pensions of civil servants, customs officers, judges; and for periodic / monthly payments and disability allowances.
