Former management of Mărculești Airport to be criminally investigated

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- The Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) said it is investigating a case on embezzlement committed at Marculesti International Airport by the company's management until 2018.

The damage caused to the airport exceeds 10 million lei. The documentation revealed that the crimes took place between 2012 and 2018 and are related to the fact that of the companies providing services for the Airport, a significant number were affiliated with a decision-maker of this company. And in order not to reveal their illegalities, another member of its management stole important documents from the employees' offices, which could not be archived later.

This morning, searches began at several addresses in Chisinau and Balti, at former decision makers of the company, in order to gather evidence to advance investigations.
