Programme on energy optimization of Chisinau-based public institutions to continue

Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/ - The works on the restoration of the Princess Natalia Dadiani lyceum from Chisinau have entered their final phase.  

Decision-makers from the Chisinau city hall paid a working visit to the Princess Natalia Dadiani Theoretical Lyceum from the Buiucani district, which is rehabilitated within the project, Energy efficiency and thermal insulation of the public institutions from the Chisinau municipality.  

Following the carrying out of the restoration works, the municipal education institution, which has two blocks, changed its look. The two buildings underwent thermal insulation outside, the roof was changed and photovoltaic panels were set, the doors and windows were changed, ventilation systems with heating’s recovery were installed, the thermal and illumination systems were replaced.  

The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, said that the rehabilitation works at this education institution were at the final stage. ‘’Presently, works are carried out at the lyceum’s annex, where there are the school workshops. The decorative plaster is to be set. The project, Energy efficiency and thermal insulation of the public institutions from the Chisinau municipality, is held in the city for the first time ever. Fourteen lyceums are included in this project in all. In parallel, thermal rehabilitation works are carried out also in six kindergartens from the Moldovan capital. At the same time, three hospitals from Chisinau are in the process of energy rehabilitation,’’ the mayor noted.        

According to Ceban, after the implementation of the first installment of this project, the second line of budgeting will follow, which allows the rehabilitation of public buildings. ‘’We estimate that the project on thermal optimization will switch to the Installment II, which implies the rehabilitation of more public buildings,’’ Ion Ceban also said.       

The overall value of the present project is 25 million euros and it is implemented by the Chisinau city hall, with the financial participation of development partners: European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (10 million euros loan), European Investment Bank (10 million lei loan) and the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P).
