Moldovan capital witnessing increase in number of refugees from Ukraine

Chisinau, April 11 / MOLDPRES /- There is a steady increase in the number of refugees from Ukraine in Chisinau.
The head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health of the Municipal Council, Boris Gîlcă, said at today's online meeting of the city hall that the management of the refugee crisis is the most current responsibility of the subdivision he leads. "We see a steady increase in the number of Ukrainian refugees arriving in Moldova, in this context we are developing a response plan of the Chisinau municipality in case of a new wave of refugees," said Gîlcă.
At the same time, the official said that 109 refugees are placed in the placement center in the Rascani sector and food and hygiene packages were offered for about four thousand refugees. "Recently, a local economic agent offered a thousand vouchers for food products worth 200 lei, which will be distributed to refugees from Ukraine," the quoted source said.
The official also specified that these days, at the placement center in the Rascani sector, a team of doctors from Japan is active, offering consultations to all the refugees who request this.
