Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Irish counterpart

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a meeting with Irish Minister for foreign Affairs and Defence Simon Coveney, on the sidelines of the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service reported.
The officials tackled priority subjects in the bilateral field, such as the conclusion of agreements in the sectors of social security, equalizing the education documents, cutting the roaming tariffs and conversion of the driver’s licences between Moldova and Ireland.
„We referred to the Moldova Support Platform Donor Conference, held in Berlin on 5 April, which proved a strong solidarity of the international community, the European Union, G7 member states, financial institutions and international organizations for Moldova,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
At the same time, the Moldovan diplomacy head reiterated the full appreciation for Ireland’s firm support for Moldova’s irreversible European integration.
