Low-income people from Moldovan capital to be able sterilize company animals for free

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - The housing and communal general department of the Chisinau municipality launches a project on sterilizing cats and dogs who belong to low-income people. The project’s goal is to prevent the uncontrolled multiplication of animals and increase in the number of masterless animals.
According to the department’s representatives, the animals will be sterilized, microchipped and vaccinated against rabies and the veterinary passport of the animal will be released to the owners, most often pensioners.
One million and a half lei was allocated from the municipal budget for carrying out this project. The estimated number of animals due to be sterilized till 1 September stands at about 1,800-1,900 cats and 900 dogs.
