Exhibition, Moldova-Ukraine - 30 years of diplomatic relations, opened in Chisinau

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - The National Library (BNRM), the Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova, in cooperation with the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), Culture Ministry, today organized the opening of an exhibition titled, Moldova – Ukraine – 30 years of diplomatic relations. The exhibition is meant to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Moldova and Ukraine.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, BNRM director Elena Pintilei said the exhibition’s goal was to promote the bilateral relations between Moldova and Ukraine in those 30 years of independence, to familiarize the guests, visitors and users of the library with the documents received as donation on behalf of the National Scientific Library from Odessa and the Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova, as well as from the collections of the National Library.
”The exhibition displays documents about the Ukrainian ethnology, history, folklore, language, Moldovan-Ukrainian ethnic and cultural relations, regional cooperation and the good-neighbour relations between Moldova and Ukraine, our aspirations for peace, prosperity in our common home – Europe. It comprises about 130 documents (monographs, dictionaries, albums, journalism, periodical editions, etc.) and is structured in 10 sections: Ukraine – national identity; Personalities from Ukraine’s history; Destiny of the contemporary Ukraine; Cooperation on the European integration dimension; Process of association with EU; Ukrainian heritage; Kiev – education and cultural centre; Tourist locations and attractions; Ukrainian culture and art; Moldovan-Ukrainian ethnic and cultural relations,’’ the BNRM director noted.
The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Ukraine were established on 10 March 1992.
The exhibition will be opened till 12 May.
