Contest for financing cinematographic projects launched in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - The National Cinematography Centre of Moldova, under the ageist of the Culture Ministry, in partnership with the COR Companies’ Association, Mediacor Centre and the Future Technologies Project, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden, launched the contest for financing cinematographic projects, 2022 session, today.       

According to the organizers, the production houses are invited to participate in the following sections: developing cinematographic projects; production of full-length film; post-production; minority co-productions, debut.  

In the first phase of the contest, the creative file is submitted and assessed by an evaluation commission and the projects are publicly presented in front of a specialized jury. The people qualified for the second stage must submit the file in 15 days after the date of publication of the results of the contest’s first stage.  

The projects qualified for the second stage will benefit, for the first time ever, from additional support on behalf of the COR Association of Creative Companies, Mediacor Centre and the Future Technologies Project, financed by USAID and Sweden. The support consists in the following: training in preparing the presentation (pitching) of cinematographic projects; translation of scenarios in the English language; three prizes of participation in international film festivals or platforms.     

The period for submitting files online is between 12 April and 17 May 2022.  

The budget allocated for the 2022 session is of 6,800,000 lei and of 1,000,000 lei for other types of activities.
