Moldovan central electoral authority sets up electoral constituencies for organizing new local polls

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has set up 11 electoral constituencies for the organization of the new local elections on 29 May 2022.  

At the same time, CEC established the quantum of the no interest loan provided to the electoral contenders at the new polls due on 29 May 2022: worth 25,000 lei for the parties participating in the local elections and 5,000 lei for the independent candidates.

Also, the electoral authority established the figure 9.03 lei per voter as ceiling of financial means which can be transferred to the account, Electoral Fund of the electoral contender. Thus, depending on the number of voters registered in those ten settlements where new local elections are to be held, the electoral competitors can spend sums between 8,000 and 49,000 lei for the electoral campaign.   

The biggest sum which can be used for the electoral campaign is registered in the Lozova settlement, central Straseni district, where 5,475 voters will elect the local council.
