Moldovan composer launches collection of musical works

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - A collection of choral works for mixed voices titled, Lună, lună nouă (New Month, Month), signed by composer, conductor, People’s Artist Eugen Mamot today was launched at the National Library of Moldova at a musical saloon.
In the beginning of the event, a PhD in the study of arts, Emilia Moraru, said the new collection of Eugen Mamot represented a considerable contribution to the completion of the national choral musical heritage and was meant for professional choral collectives and choir conductors from artistic education institutions.
Eugen Mamot was born in the Clococenii Vechi village, western Glodeni district, on 30 January 1941. In 1963, he graduated from the Music College of Slobozia, choir conductor class. In 1968, Mamot graduated from the Gavriil Musicescu Arts Institute, choir conducting class and in 1984 – the second faculty of the same institution – the composition one.
In 2001, Eugen Mamot was awarded the Labour Glory Order and in 2011 – the honorific title of People’s Artist.
