Jean Monnet Dialogue for peace and Democracy to be implemented in Moldova's parliament

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Jean Monnet Dialogue for Peace and Democracy instrument will be implemented in Moldova’s parliament. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today informed about the initiation of this process at a joint conference with Rapporteur of the EU Foreign Affairs Committee for the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement within the European Parliament Dragos Tudorache.    

The two officials discussed the situation in the region and the war in Ukraine, as well as the process of management of the flow of refugees. ‘’I thank the citizens of Moldova for the effort they make while backing the Ukrainian refugees. The effort made by Moldova is exemplary. The European Parliament will always be with Moldova. The questionnaire on the accession to EU came on 11 April, which means that it opens a new way in our parliamentary dialogue,’’ Tudorache noted.    

„As far as I understand, Moldova’s authorities want to go through this first phase of evaluation as quickly as possible. The ball is on the field of the Moldovan authorities. The next steps will depend on the quickness within which they will answer this questionnaire,’’ the official stressed.   

The parliament speaker said that, even if Moldova was going through crises, the European agenda remains unchanged. ‘’We have a full agenda of state’s reformation. I saw the questionnaire today and we must set forth the current situation about how things are working in Moldova. This implies detailed information. We will move quickly, this is in our interest. Organization meetings take place; the tasks between institutions are already established,’’ Igor Grosu added.
