Fintech Hub development platform launched in Chisinau

Chisinau, April 13 / MOLDPRES /- First Fintech Hub in our country - a platform that encourages digital creativity and technological innovation was launched yesterday, in partnership with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova. The initiative will increase cooperation between state institutions such as the National Bank of Moldova, the Public Services Agency, the Ministry of Finance and the private sector represented by commercial banks and companies developing various fintech products.
"The role of technology is to offer opportunities, access and multiple advantages and I want this new hub to become, in the shortest time, the favorite place, where everyone can work productively, to develop their business, to gather around them talented people and motivated to expand to other educational institutions that will be inspired and take over this modern study practice in order to strengthen the fintech community and create an environment conducive to the growth of financial technologies in our country, "said Deputy Prime Minister for Digitization Iurie Turcan.
In this context, Scott Hocklander, Head of the Mission of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Moldova, said that the launch of the Fintech Hub is a success of a lasting collaboration, and this hub is a model for others, a place where academics authorities, students, the private sector - everyone has the opportunity to come and try to move certain things, on the financial component. "USAID supports the Republic of Moldova in the development of digital skills for the market, because we know how important the IT field is for the Republic of Moldova and the development of the country's strategic sectors. We are committed to bringing information technology to other sectors, including the financial sector, and we will continue to support you in this way, ”said Scott Hocklander.
The hub covers an area of approximately 1000 square meters and is equipped with the necessary equipment and technologies: furniture, computers, servers, licensed programs and others. Students, teachers, entrepreneurs, or simply those interested in this field, are welcomed in several areas specially designed for activities and events to be held here.
Fintech Hub operates under the Agreement signed between the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and the National Association of ICT Companies. The launch of the Fintech Hub is a commitment to the development of the Fintech sector within the TEKWILL project, implemented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Sweden.
