Moldova's EU accession questionnaire to be completed in a month

Chisinau, April 13 / MOLDPRES /- Moldova's accession to the European Union questionnaire will be completed within a month.

Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, said today in a press conference that the European Union's offer of the accession questionnaire is a confirmation that Moldova is a state with a functioning democratic system. “I received a set of 369 questions regarding the functioning of the existing political system in the Republic of Moldova. The second set will soon come to Chisinau and will contain questions on the implementation of the acquis communautaire. The two questionnaires represent an x-ray of the entire existing system in the Republic of Moldova. The fact that the European Union provided this accession questionnaire is a confirmation of the fact that the Republic of Moldova is a state with a functioning democratic system ", said the Deputy Prime Minister.

According to the official, working groups have been set up within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to provide answers to questions in clear and concise language. "We have set up several working groups to answer questions. The answers will pass several filters to get the set language that the officials of the institutions in Brussels are used to ", he said.

At the same time, Popescu mentioned that the answer to the questionnaire will be sent to the European Commission in mid-May, so that, after the European Council summit in June, an answer can be obtained.
