Hydrologists warn about increase in Dniester river's water level

Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has extended a hydrological warning of increase in the Dniester river’s water level.

According to SHS hydrologists, the forecast is in connection with the increase in the overflow of water from the Dnestrovsk Reservoir (Dniester river) up to 500 cubic metres/second.

„The hydrological centre forecasts an increase in the level of water by 0.7-1.4 metres on the Soroca-Camenca segment against 13 April for the time interval 13-15 April. The water will flow within the limit of the minor river bed,’’ the State Hydrometeorological Service said.

In the context, the authorities warn the local public administration, economic agents, which have reservoirs in their subordination, to pay attention to the state of dams, bridges and ways of water’s evacuation.
