Moldovan authorities urge city halls to apply for European Village program

Chisinau, 14 April /MOLDPRES/- Tens of training sessions organized in the country and over 1,400 representatives of city halls were trained to apply for a contest for proposing local development projects under the European Village program.
"There are six days left until the deadline for submitting the files. We urge mayors from all over the country, from South to North, from West to East, to apply for the competition, to develop local projects, to bring a little of European life ", a communiqué of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development reads.
According to the ministry, the submitted projects must be about modernized water supply, water purification and sewerage systems; street lighting; kindergartens, schools, repaired and thermally insulated houses of culture; rehabilitated and remodeled objects of historical architecture, gardens, parks, cultural and natural landscapes; sports halls for socially vulnerable groups, childcare centers, the elderly and people with special needs.
President Maia Sandu announced on March 21 the launch of the national local development program European Village. This year, the project program for local development has a budget of 470 million lei. Another 300 million lei from the program were allocated to the regional development project.
