Germany to fund projects in support of host communities, refugees from Ukraine

Chisinau, April 15 / MOLDPRES /- The Agency for International Cooperation of Germany (GIZ Moldova) invites non-governmental organizations to submit project proposals for the implementation of local initiatives in support of host communities and refugees from Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova. The funds are being made available by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the concepts can be submitted until 22 April.
German support will cover the four development regions of the Republic of Moldova - North, Center, South, Gagauzia - and Chisinau. The aim is to respond to the acute needs of those affected by the crisis, as well as to increase the institutional capacity of public authorities and / or non-governmental organizations to deal with current and future emergencies and crises.
The initiative will focus on providing a series of answers aligned with three general objectives. They provide for immediate and time-critical emergency assistance and access to essential basic services; increase the capacity to prepare for emergencies and resilient recovery at regional and / or Community level; enhancing social cohesion among refugees and members of host communities, and social and economic integration, including women and other vulnerable groups.
The expected duration of the program, to be implemented through the GIZ project Modernization of local public services in the Republic of Moldova is until September 2022.
The minimum amount awarded is 25,000 euros (equivalent in lei), and the maximum amount - 100,000 euros. Proposals with smaller amounts will also be considered, provided they are willing to join a consortium with other organizations.
