State of emergency in public health to be canceled from 16 April

Chisinau, April 15 / MOLDPRES /- The National Commission for Public Health (CNESP) decided to cancel the state of emergency in public health from 16 April almost two years after its declaration, in connection with the epidemiological situation regarding COVID-19 infection, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The decision was taken at today's meeting. It was taken in the context in which in the last two months there is a decrease in the incidence of new cases of COVID-19, from 754 to 34 cases per 100 thousand population. Also, in most localities in the country there is a green code.
Thus, with the cancellation of the state of emergency, all epidemiological restrictions are removed. As of April 16, the wearing of protective masks will no longer be mandatory, but it is recommended that they continue to be used indoors and in public transport.
It is also important to follow the rules of hand hygiene, the rules of respiratory hygiene, but also the responsible social conduct in case of symptoms of respiratory infections.
COVID-19 has not disappeared, and in order to be protected from the serious forms caused by the virus, citizens are urged to get vaccinated.
