Transgaz stock company of Romania to extend infrastructure in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/ - The heads of the National Energy Regulatory Agencies (ANRE) of Romania and Moldova have discussed the ensuring of Moldova’s energy security in Bucharest.
The director general of Moldova’s ANRE, Veaceslav Untila, met his Romanian counterpart Dumitru Chirita in Bucharest. The interlocutors discussed the ensuring of Moldova’s energy security, diversification of the sources of supply with electric energy and natural gas, as well as the extension of the inter-institutional cooperation.
The two delegations discussed Romania’s possibilities to contribute to Moldova’s supply with natural gas, in the context of eventual changes in the contractual arrangements existing between Moldova and Russia, as well as the providing of capacities of storing natural gas needed for Moldova on the territory of Romania.
During the same visit, Veaceslav Untila had a meeting with Director General of Transgaz Romania Ion Sterian. The discussions were focused on projects of extending the Transgaz infrastructure in Moldova and new opportunities of the country’s supply with natural gas from the European market. The sides welcomed the investments made by Transgaz in Moldova, which ensures the diversification of the sources and represents a viable alternative in covering the consumption of natural gas.
