Weather to be cold, rainy in Moldova on Palm Sunday

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/ - The next week-end, when the Palm Sunday will be marked in Moldova, the weather will be characterized by variable air temperatures, preponderantly cool, dark and rainy, the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has reported.

According to meteorologists, on 16 April, the air temperature will oscillate between +11 and +20 Celsius degrees and thunderstorm rains are expected. The weather will continue cooling at night and on 17 April, the maximal air temperatures will not be higher than +10 degrees during the day and will drop down to 0 degrees at night.

Rains, cold and dark weather are expected all over Moldova in the Passion Week too.

The Orthodox Christians mark the Palm Sunday on 17 April this year. The holiday commemorates an event mentioned in all the four Gospels – the triumphant entrance of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem on the day before His passions.

According to people’s belief, the weather on Easter will be like the one on the Palm Sunday.
