International Day of Monuments, Sites marked in Chisinau

Chisinau, April 18 / MOLDPRES /- The Chisinau City History Museum marks today the International Day of Monuments and Sites through a cultural-scientific program, organized in partnership with the Department of Social Sciences, Economics, Humanities and Arts of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Center for Humanities Research of the University of Moldova and under the auspices of the Culture Department of Chisinau Municipality.

According to the director of the institution, Valeria Suruceanu, during the event will take place the round table "Alley of Classics of Romanian Literature - 65 years since its inauguration", held within the scientific project "Culture of promoting the image of Moldovan cities through art and mythopoetics".

International Monuments and Sites Day has been celebrated annually since 1983 and was proposed for celebration by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) on 18 April 1982, approved by the UNESCO General Assembly in 1983, to commemorate the common heritage. and we all have a responsibility to protect it as a legacy for future generations. The purpose of the event is to promote the diversity of Chisinau's cultural heritage, its vulnerability and the efforts needed to preserve it.
