Soldanesti high school becoming more energy efficient with EU support

Chisinau, April 26 / MOLDPRES /- In Soldanesti the energy efficiency works of the Theoretical High School Alexei Mateevici are underway. The site was recently visited by specialists from the Regional Development Agency (ADR) Center to assess the identified challenges and ways to address them.
"Together with representatives of the Construction Department of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) we discussed the activities that are currently underway, the implementation schedule and the proposed terms to ensure the successful achievement of the objectives," according to ADR Center.
Last year, the Center Regional Development Agency launched the project Increasing the energy efficiency of the high school Alexei Mateevici in Soldanesti, funded by the European Union. In July 2021, the company contract was signed, which is about 44 million lei, with the duration of the contracted works of 12 months, but according to ADR Center, "due to several factors, the deadlines will be changed."
"Following the implementation of this investment measure, 71 employees and 559 high school students will benefit from better working conditions and studies, the normalized annual energy consumption in the high school will be reduced by 970 MWh, and the annual normalized CO2 emissions reduced by two hundred tons, "ADR Center sources said.
The investment measure Increasing the energy efficiency of the high school Alexei Mateevici in Soldanesti is funded by the European Union in cooperation with the project Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova, which is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation in partnership with the relevant ministry of the Republic of Moldova and financially supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
