Moldovan officials attended State Flag Day event

Chisinau, April 27 / MOLDPRES /- The country's top leadership today took part in an official ceremony on the occasion of Moldova's Flag Day, marked on 27 April.
The event was attended by President Maia Sandu, speaker Igor Grosu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa.
"The flag is a major official symbol of sovereignty and independence, which appears with the state, represents the people and their identity. The history of the Republic of Moldova begins with the tricolor ", said Maia Sandu in her speech at the event.
"The colors of the state flag refer to the existence of the people, to everything that represents us," said the country's president.
"Our citizens, regardless of occupation, language, ethnicity and age, fit under the tricolor of the Republic of Moldova, but in addition to etiquette and ritual we need consolidation. We are a people of democracy and freedom ", the head of state mentioned.
The ceremony ended with military honor at the Tricolor.
April 27 marks the Day of the State Flag of the Republic of Moldova, which was first hoisted in 1990.
