Germany to invest 9 million euros in construction of new water-purifying station in south Moldova city

Chisinau 29 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Cahul city hall and the Turkish Consortium Alkatas-Metag on 28 April signed an agreement on the designing and construction of a new residual water-purifying station (SEAU) for the Cahul city and nearby villages - Cotihana, Rosu, Crihana Veche.
The value of the works of designing and building of the water-purifying station is nine million euros and the implementation term is 24 months.
The construction of SEAU is one of the key goals of the project on supply with water and sewerage from the southern Cahul district, with an overall budget of 35.5 million euros, provided as grant by the German government (23.3 million euros) and the European Union (13 million euros), through the German Bank KfW.
Additionally, the project provides for the modernization of the water supply and sewerage networks in the Cahul city, the villages Cotihana and Crihana Veche, as well as the creation of a sustainable service in the Cahul district, with a total number of 39,000 beneficiaries. The project is implemented according to the regulations by the KfW Bank.
On 30 April 2022, Moldova and Germany will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations. On this period, Germany has provided Moldova with support worth over 150 million euros, in technical and financial cooperation.
