Chisinau, 1 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre has recently made a play- reading according to a Russian writer and dramatist, Ivan Davadov. Following the bombardment of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, Davadov wrote a play-requiem titled, The Wreck of War, about the horror unleashed by Russia in Ukraine.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the literary secretary of the Balti-based Theatre, Ludmila Cerguta, said the theatre, having as guest a Lithuanian stage manager Linas Zaikauskas (who stages the play, The Avalanche, by Tuncer Cücenoğlu), had benefited from the friendship relation between the two theatre aces. From the correspondence kept up with playwright Ivan Davadov, who presently lives in London, the Balti Theatre got the acceptance to make the first performance of the play, The Wreck of War. The play was translated by Anton Cucu.
According to Cerguta, the actors protagonists, Onorina Burlac-Tanase and Ciprian Racila, play the parts of a journalist woman evaded from Russia and a Russian soldier, who become captives in the rubble of a bombarded building.
The premiere of this play will take place at the Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre on 5 May at 18:00, with open doors for all Ukrainian refugees who are in Balti, representatives of the consulates and all people united in thoughts and spiritually against the war in Ukraine, Ludmila Cerguta added.
