Authorities started elaboration of Program for accelerating development of Bălți municipality

Chisinau, May 3. / MOLDPRES /- First meeting of the working group responsible for the elaboration of the Program for accelerating the development of Bălți municipality, as a development pole took place recently, inside the North Regional Development Agency (ADR). The members of the working group defined the objectives and analyzed the potential structure of the Program.
"Our goal is to develop for Bălți a program that proposes a complex analysis, with an emphasis on competitiveness, economic growth, smart specialization, etc. We want a new strategic document, different from the existing ones, which should be a tool for attracting investments not only from national funds, but especially from external funds ", said ADR Nord head Maria Prisacari.
The representatives of Bălți city hall referred to the local strategic documents in force of the municipality. Among them are the Strategy for socio-economic development of Bălți municipality for 2021-2025, the Urban Revitalization Program of Bălți municipality for 2022-2024 (stage II), the Action Plan for a Green City of Bălți municipality, the Economic Development Plan Local of Bălți municipality for 2020-2022.
The future program will contribute to accelerating the development of Balti municipality as a development hub. The strategic document will focus on supporting the consolidation of the role and functions of Balti as the second largest city in the Republic of Moldova, in order to increase the attractiveness of investors and the young and skilled workforce; promoting better national and international connectivity; supporting the structural changes of the local economy to support smart growth based on regional competitive advantage.
The working group responsible for developing the Balti Acceleration Development Program includes ten members, representing the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, ADR Nord, Balti city hall, Balti State University Alecu Russo in Balti, Balti Free Economic Zone and the Regional Center assistance and information for non-governmental organizations Contact.
