Ukrainian Film Days start in Moldova

Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/ - Five documentaries will be screened at the third issue of the Ukrainian Film Days in Moldova, held in Chisinau on 3-5 May.   

According to the organizers, the event has a charity purpose and the financial means from the sale of tickets (one ticket costs 150 lei) will be directed to help the centre of temporary placement of refugees from Ukraine, located in Chisinau on the Drumul Viilor Street 38/1.    

Five documentaries will be presented.

The Ukrainian Film Days in Moldova are organized by the National Congress of Ukrainians from Moldova and the Association of Young Ukrainians of Moldova, under the aegis of Ukraine’s Embassy in Moldova and the active support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Embassy of Sweden in Moldova, Artcor, Mediacor, Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Moldova for Peace, Community of Ukrainian Women from Moldova, Takflix online cinema, International Congress of Ukrainian Youth Organizations and Rotary Club Chisinau.  

The Ukrainian Film Days in Moldova were created in partnership and at an initiative of Ukraine’s State Film Agency – the charity film marathon CinemAid Ukraine. Within the marathon, 76 films of Ukrainian production will be screened in 50 countries. Co-organizers of the CinemAid marathon are also the Ukrainian Film Academy, UkrKinoFest, Union of Entrepreneurs from the TV and Film Industry, the NGO Nareshti, Doors Charity Foundation and the Centre for Development of Creative Industries.     

As part of the cooperation with the CinemAid initiative, some of the collections of money from the screening of the film titled, Serfs without Glory, will be transferred to back the cinematographic industry from Ukraine in war time. The films will be presented in their original language with subtitles in English.
