Tourist Information Center opened in Calarasi

Chisinau, May 4. / MOLDPRES /- The launch of the Tourist Information Center, created within the Moldovan-Romanian cross-border project, MuseumInfoTur, took place yesterday in Călărași. It is financed by the European Union through the Joint Operational Program Romania - Republic of Moldova 2014 - 2020.
The event was organized by the Museum of History and Ethnography Dumitru Scvortsov-Russu in Calarasi, in partnership with the Regional Development Agency (ADR) Center and the Association for Tourism Development in Moldova.
"This is a result of the courage and determination of the local representatives, who have committed themselves to be an example for the Tourist Information Centers in the network, as well as for other information points that are functional in our country," Lilia Turcan, project manager said.
In order to increase the capacity of the representatives working in the Tourist Information Centers, thematic training sessions were organized. Also, for the good development of the information activities, the newly created Center was equipped with modern equipment. They reflect the cultural and natural heritage of the project area, according to the quoted source.
The inauguration of the seven Tourist Information Centers in the Republic of Moldova takes place on May 3-6, inside the museums part of the MuseumInfoTur project.
The project activities are organized by ADR Center, in partnership with the Association for Tourism Development in Moldova and the Association for Cross-Border Cooperation Lower Danube Euroregion (Romania). The project aims at increasing visibility of the cultural and historical crossborder heritage of Center Region, Moldova and Galati County, Romania, by strengthening the capacity of cultural institutions and creating a network of tourist information centers in major promoted destinations.
