Moldovan president congratulates Gagauz people on community's Hederlez national holiday

Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has conveyed a congratulatory message to the Moldovan citizens belonging to the Gagauz ethnic group, who mark the national holiday of this community, Hederlez, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state said that Hederlez symbolized the new life and marked the coming of spring; this is the holiday of faith in good and nice things which we expect, of hope in rich harvest and satiated life.

„On Hederlez, the Gagauz ancestors’ traditions and clothes, occupations and traditional dishes are meant to unite people of various ethnic groups, cultures and faiths, people whose hearts beat in unison for peace, spiritual harmony and well-being,’’ the head of state said in her message.

President Maia Sandu wished all Gagauz of Moldova good health and confidence in our common peaceful future.
