Moldovan president meets representatives of veterans, culture people of Moldova

Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met representatives of the associations of veterans and a group of culture people from Moldova. The subjects discussed were focused on the present situation in Moldova, problems faced by the two communities and the solutions needed to consolidate the society, the presidential press service has reported.
At the meeting with the heads of the veterans’ associations, the head of state discussed the situation of the people who had defended Moldova’s independence at the Transnistria War, those who had fought in Afghanistan or participated in the Chernobyl accident relief works. The Moldovan president stressed the role of the veterans in the education of the young generation in the spirit of peace, patriotism and dialogue. She noted that it was important that we consolidate the society around these objectives and prevent attempts of destabilization.
The head of state also discussed the importance of peace for the prosperous and free future of the country with the members of the creation community. President Maia Sandu urged the culture people to be messengers of the good understanding in the society. Another subject tackled deals with the more active promotion of the European integration approach. The participants in the discussion stressed, in the context, the need of a national consensus for the European integration, which is to be backed by diverse social, political and cultural groups.
