Moldovan MPs made amendments to law on electronic documents

Chisinau, May 19 / MOLDPRES /- MPs voted in a final reading today on the draft law on electronic identification and trusted services, which aims to create and develop new electronic services.

The new law will regulate the security of electronic means of identification and reliable services. Thus, it is proposed to define new notions, which are not found in the national legislation, such as trust service, electronic seal, registered electronic distribution service, certificate for authentication of a web page, creator of the electronic seal, etc. It also provides for the method of accreditation and the activity of trusted service providers.

The control in the field of reliable services will be performed by the Intelligence and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova.

Following the entry into force of this draft, the Law on Electronic Signatures and Electronic Documents will be repealed.
