Moldovan diplomacy head discuses with Estonian foreign affairs minister

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister of Estonia Eva-Maria Liimets, on the sidelines of the 132nd Session of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers, held in Turin, Italy. The officials discussed the regional situation, as well as the developments in Moldova’s Transnistrian region, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
Minister Nicu Popescu thanked the Estonian diplomacy head for the firm message of her country’s support for the independence and territorial integrity both of Moldova and Ukraine, as well as for the assistance provided for the management and overcoming of the refugees’ crisis.
At the same time, the interlocutors discussed Moldova’s application on accession to the European Union.
„We continue to make efforts in our European integration, being inspired by the aspirations of our citizens. Moldova has chosen the accession to EU, as this is a union of peace, freedom and prosperity,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.
